Del Mar is the ONLY vet I would trust with my babies. I am a foster mom and I have had many animals come through my house. Del Mar is always caring, compassionate, communicative, helpful and truly invested in the health and happiness of my animals. They have treated approximately 12 animals for me and I have never experienced this type of care. They are a fear free Veterinary clinic and they take that pledge seriously. For example, I had a nursing foster dog develop Mastitis late at night during a hurricane. We live on an island that was closed off so I didn’t expect to hear from them for days. Many people were cleaning yards or surveying damage so I had little hope of getting her help quickly. Early the next morning the clinic called me and immediately got us in.. The Dr. took his time and handled our situation with the care one would expect if it was his pet. Del Mar also performed sterilization on 2 of my foster puppies. The difference in the healing of those 2 dogs was vastly different than the assembly line vets that have sterilized previous animals for me. I can not say enough good things about this clinic. The Dr even comes out to my house so that my senior dog doesn’t have to go in…I have to also mention the staff there is so amazing with animals and so wonderful with us as pet parents! I found Del Mar because a neighbor referred me while raving about the care her pet received. I am so grateful I was referred to them and for the way they love my animals. I highly recommend them to care for yours too. ❤️🐾
No words can express the gratitude I feel for Del Mar Veterinary Hospital! Dr. Nieves has worked wonders with my dog, Gemma, who was terrified of the vet. Thanks to his knowledge and skill, I no longer have to dread our vet visits. Not only has he guided us to an effective approach that combines medicine and behavior modification, he has included me in the process! Gemma is learning that going to the vet doesn't have to be scary and upsetting. I was a client at another veterinary practice in St. Augustine for 10 years, and when I left there, I tried a couple of other vets in the area, but none of them showed much interest in or knowledge of canine behavior. I am thrilled that I have finally found our family vet, and I have no doubt that Dr. Nieves and staff will be able to compassionately and effectively address all of Gemma's needs.
Excellent care of our dog. Mika had a serious UTI that was not diagnosed properly, so when we called Del Mar for a second opinion, they were able to get us in quickly and provided excellent care and treatment.
Dr. Ramon L Nieves Perez and the ENTIRE staff are very professional and super friendly ! They are compassionate and are really into their patients (animals). Their doctor visits are very affordable and they offer Care Credit to assist with your bill. They also offer military & law enforcement discounts. I thank my neighbor for recommending this veterinarian over all others in the area. Max & Harley ❤️this place and the staff. The boyz ARE NEVER AFRAID for their visit at the Vet.
We came to Florida for the winter and brought our 13 year old Cavalier who had been diagnosed with lymphoma. We knew that she would not be returning home alive. We found Del Mar veterinary hospital by reading the reviews. I called and talk to one of the technicians and was told that when the time came to euthanize our Lacey that it could be done in the office at a fair price. The day came on a Monday, I called and said it was time and was given an appointment at the end of day. When we arrived every one was very friendly and compassionate and offered us coffee and tea etc. they also gave our puppy treats and plenty of water. We filled out most of the required paper work online and had a short wait until we were taken to a special room that had a couch, soft music and candles. The veterinarian Dr Nieves came and performed the euthanization. Dr Nieves was very gentle with Lacey and made sure she was comfortable. After that he left us alone and told us we could stay as long as we wanted. Everyone at Del Mar made an unbearable situation bearable. We couldn't have ask for a more caring and kind hearted group of people to get us through this sad experience. We had Lacey privately cremated and after two weeks we received her cremains in a beautiful wooden box with a name plate. Thanks to all of you for being so kind to my wife and me! God's blessings on you all.
