****UPDATE******** FOR********MY*******REVIEW! Recently, I had a conversation with Eric, the owner of A&E Pet Resort, following a bad review I posted. To my surprise, he apologized and informed me that he would be refunding both our dog's stay and my $1400 vet bills, as he believed it was the right thing to do. That refund total would have been $2500. I was impressed by his willingness to rectify the situation. I told him when I returned home I would update my review to reflect that but I wouldn't feel comfortable allowing my dogs back. He said that was fair. Since I am a snowbird and was out of town (which I told Eric), my husband informed me that a woman had called to inquire if we had received the check yet. I was out of town still and just returned home last night so I opened the check this morning. To my disappointment, the check was written for $1400.00, the exact amount of my vet bills. I promptly called and left a message for Eric to clarify that I was expecting a refund for the dog's stay as well, and that my vet bills actually exceeded $1400.00. The reason I didn't ask for the full vet bill amount is because I have dog insurance, so I didn't want to receive a double payment, I knew what I'd receive from them so I deducted that amount off. He didn't know that piece of information. Regrettably, instead of returning my call, Eric chose to reply in writing, accusing us of being liars. If Eric wishes to conduct business in this manner, that is his choice. However, it is important to note that he is the one being dishonest in this scenario. To substantiate my claims, I will be posting my vet bills as proof. I told the owner at my groomers this story since I had to cancel their appointment that week and I was told a similar story in regards to A&E by one of the groomers - she said never again. ************** *************************ORIGINAL REVIEW********************* I recently had the unfortunate experience of boarding my dogs at A&E Pet Resort, and I must say it was an absolute nightmare. Not only did my pets come home what appeared to be a parasite but they were also covered in feces, which is absolutely unacceptable. While we were bathing the feces off one dog my other dog showed signs of the same issues by going number one and two on the floor - she’s potty trained. There was nothing solid about what happened for a whole week. Sorry to put that mental picture in your head but it’s honestly putting it mildly. I brought them to the vet where they were treated for parasites, given fluids, and received antibiotics. I immediately called to express my concerns, however, the response I received was far from satisfactory. The manager, whom I spoke with, simply offered a half-hearted apology, claiming that she takes things "very seriously and the disinfect twice per day." Well, let me tell you, her words did nothing to alleviate the hell our family and dogs went through for over a week. There was a second trip back to the vet for my youngest dog which now totaled $1400 for both trips. I also want to point out that my all of my one of my dog’s paws were infected. I was told most likely from her stress licking. I understand it’s stressful to leave your dogs for even one day, but we are frequent travelers, she’s been boarded many times (other locations) and this has never happened. We paid for a bath for both dogs yet came back in that state. There was absolutely no way anyone could have over looked the state they were in. I told the manager a phone call would’ve been nice - she agreed. I could have made other arrangements had I known. Sadly, my dogs unfortunate experience with the negligence, and dismissive response from the manager make it clear that A&E Pet Resort is simply not a reliable or trustworthy place for me to leave my pets again.

Our sweet and hyper, 20 pound cattle dog has been boarding here since he was a pup (6-7 years). We rescued his sweet, water loving brother 5 months back. They are able to board together! Whether they board 2-3 days for a volleyball tourney or a full week due to travel, our pups are in good hands. We’ve gotten to know the owners, Aleatha and Eric, as an animal loving family with high standards. They’ve built a competent and professional support team and expanded their services over the years. Services now include boarding, grooming, obedience training and daycare. Although we teach our pups tricks at home, we look forward to booking obedience training next time we go out of state.

I am not sure there are enough words to say how extremely fabulous a&e pet resort is. From the moment I called to gather information, the staff was so friendly and very informative. I will say that I would have been annoyed with myself for how often I called in the week leading up to our pets stay, but the staff remained friendly and did not seem annoyed one bit. My husband and I were very thankful to have such caring staff to take care of our boy Oakley. Dee, the trainer, was the most comforting and sweetest person. She sent updates with pictures/videos daily which eased our minds. On day of pickup, she spent more than the time allotted going over what she taught that week. We are very grateful for all the staff working there, but would like to recognize Jessica, Hayley, Michelle, and Dee for their outstanding customer service. Thank you for everything! Would recommend this pet resort to anyone!

Never again - Read ALL their reviews. A&E is a local marketing powerhouse. They advertise all over social media, and no doubt have happy customers that sing their praises. We used to be one of them. However, our most recent boarding with them and how it was handled was completely unacceptable. We trusted our 2 dogs with them for 3 nights in July since they have been to daycare a few times and done well, and have family pets that are (were)regulars there. When we got them home after our return and they calmed down from the excitement of finally being back home I noticed one of the dogs had fluid filled edema on both of her back legs, and that where she had calluses on her front legs, they had become raw and itchy, and she had lost a good amount of hair around them. She also had a sore in between her paw pad on one of her front feet. She refused to eat that night. She's a true lab in every sense and eats everything in sight, so this was very abnormal. Our GSP had not stopped itching since he came home and had a raw spot on his nose and his entire underside was bumpy and red. 2 days later we took them to the vet because they had not made any improvement. Our labs nose had become swollen, itchy, and she rubbed it until it bled trying to itch it. She still would not eat, and her energy level was absolutely zero, also very unlike her. Vet suggested they were exposed to something, but was not able to sayt exactly what. $340 later we had antibiotics and steroids for both dogs. I sent an email to the address listed on their website. Knowing how active they are online, I expected a fairly quick response. However, nearly 2 weeks later there has been no response. My email was simply to inform them of the situation in the hopes that they could investigate the issue and prevent other dogs from getting into this situation. I did not ask for a refund, I was not rude. I simply wanted them to have the info since, at the time and based on how they portray themselves, I believed they wanted what would be best for the animals in their care. The best case scenario here is that they missed the signs of what was happening. If that's the case a simple "we're very sorry this happened and let us look into it" would've sufficed. They said they were fine and ate all their food while there. I'm sure they seemed fine in that environment. They love being around people and other dogs so there was plenty of excitement and adrenaline flowing. With no response but plenty of positive marketing going on, I simply replied to one of their Facebook posts asking for someone to read the email and respond. Instead, I received a snarky reply of "we're sorry you feel they had a bad experience.....". It's not that I FELT that they had a bad experience. They came home with sores and infection. Literal verifiable proof that their stay was a "bad experience". Then they deleted the post and completely blocked me. After reading their reviews it seems this is certainly not the only time that dogs in their care are returned with skin infections and generally worse off than when they were dropped off. They are unable to take ownership of any negative issue or handle criticism without trying to place the blame back on the pet owner, or ignore it all together. They've grown quite a bit and it seems maybe gotten too big for their own good. The thing that got me the most though, is that not once after they were made aware of the issue and responded in that Facebook post, did they ask about how the dogs were doing. That says a lot to me.......
