Dr. Strickland's office is small and intimate without a lot of bells and whistles. I was referred to this practice by a friend who has used this practice for years and for assorted illnesses and conditions. I went with very specific needs and one over-arching question. Dr. Strickland was forthright and kind, and the staff was so very caring and compassionate. The visits were quite reasonably affordable. Parking could be a bit of a challenge at certain times of the day/ times of the year because the office is near the beach. On the other hand, being near the beach was a blessing for me and my dog. I am grateful.
I've been going to this vet for about 2 years now and will continue to go for my felines. I believe the vet knows more on felines then Dogs. Took my year old German sheltered for limping 4 times each being told he sprained it. On the 5th time I decided that I will get a secound opinion and turns out he has hip dipthasa. For smaller issues this clinic is great but finding bigger underlining issues I recommend another clinic.
We've taken three of our Dogs to Anastasia Vet. Really good Vet, very knowledgeable but don't expect a great bedside manor, as this very is old school. They've always fitted us in quickly when there is a health issue. We've seen many versions across the country while RVING for two years. By far this is the Best. No frills but outstanding health care for our puppies.
Write up taken both of my new puppies there. For their first check ups. It was easy to get an appointment. The doctor and his assistants were really nice. And it was a pleasant experience. I will continue to use them.
I can honestly say this veterinarian is as good as it gets. I was inspired to write a review because a co-worker asked me today how much my vet charged for teeth cleaning and I told her I had no idea but that I could say this vet never over charges and I feel like he almost does everything at cost! She looked into the price after we spoke and sure enough he was the most reasonable, local quote she received. I appreciate that he never tries to hard sell or up sell you on things your dog doesn’t need. So when he says my dog needs something, I don’t argue. The only thing I will critique is that I wish he or his staff would have told us that our dog was dying... I think they knew but didn’t say as much. Obviously you can’t predict death but I wish we were given a heads up that his symptoms were pointing to his quickly approaching death. I’m assuming Dr. Strickland knows the signs since he’s been doing it so long now. That’s my only recommendation. Otherwise, I’m a big fan of this place and all of the staff. Thank you for taking care of our pups!
