I’m from up north but I came down to Florida to visit my sister. She has developing arthritis. so I’ve been helping take care of her dog for the last few weeks. Bella has been to Animal House before, it’s nothing new for her. She likes looking at the birds and snakes and squeaky toys. If you asked me to write this review before, I would have said that animal house deserves 5 stars. Friendly staff, wide selection of all natural dog foods, and sober employees. Now this was not my experience this time. Now I don’t know this young man’s name and I debated on if I should describe him and subject him to the public shame. I noticed there are no private review options . I came to the conclusion that it would be best for the other staff to be aware if they aren’t already. It was a young boy with a slim build whose hair is long and dirty blond who was visibly high. Eyes red, swaying back and forth, rude abrupt responses. I was mortified. Where are this kids parents? So young and already hooked. What sold it to me when I saw his smoking devices in his hand. His hand was held into his pocket but I could see the top poking through with the light. I know that is what I saw because I was quite a smoker myself. Lung cancer is no joke!! If this is the kind of thing that the managers allow then there is no way I am ever coming back here and I suggest neither of you do either. No joke what these can do for his long term health. He was in a different dimension when I spoke to him. I ended up leaving without the product I went in for. I am glad Bella was not with me this time. Heartbreaking would she be if she knew I was there and did not get her a cookie. was not worth my time. Petco here we come. very disappointed.
I recently brought a new conure into our home. The folks at Animal House have not on provided great products but have also been very helpful with their guidance and coaching! Definitely a reason they’ve been in business in our community for many years. Great customer service. 👍🏼
I left the store deeply disturbed at the enclosures for the blue macaws. Those birds need ample space to fly or stretch their wings and this cage didn’t allow them to do either. I am honestly baffled that this type of care…or lack of care rather…is even legal. As such intelligent animals they need some sort of mental stimulation (like toys or structures to play on) and this cage was just completely bare. I’m sure they have some type of psychological disorder after living in those conditions. Justice for those birds!!
Where were a lot of animals there from parrots to snakes. The shop was clean n they had good service. There were a lot of animal products for sale
This is the only store I'll buy fresh water from for my aquarium. They also have a great selection of birds, fish, rabbits, chickens, and other critters. They have a great selection of dog/cat/bird/aquarium supplies. Very knowledgeable staff.
