Everything was relatively great here… but at the end of our first time experience here, we had to subtract two stars because our expectations fell short in our most vulnerable moment…. Read the full experience below: We recently brought our 14-year-old miniature dachshund, to this clinic after she began rapidly declining not eating, drinking, nor defecating for several days prior to us coming in. They were able to fit us in on short notice with an appointment same day, which we really appreciated. After the exam, it was determined she was in late-stage liver failure, and was slowly dying. We had made the heart wrenching decision to put our girl to sleep to end her suffering. The staff was relatively kind and professional throughout the process, and we felt supported during an incredibly emotional time. The cost for everything including the exam, euthanasia, and cremation was around $400, which seemed fair given the circumstances. Our girls remains came back 5 days later for pickup at the clinic. Lasting impression: I want to share some constructive feedback to offer perspective on our experience. We were told we could take as much time as we needed with Gigi after she passed, and that we could signal the staff when we were ready for them to take her. Unfortunately, this wasn’t entirely the case. While the doctor was very compassionate, there was an underlying sense of urgency that made us feel rushed during such a vulnerable moment which was saying our final goodbyes. The doctor came in minutes after she already passed suggesting that he can trim a piece of Gigi’s fur as a keepsake, which was a thoughtful gesture, but his body language following that we felt a bit pressured to leave the room and move on quickly—almost as if they needed the space for the next appointment. When we agreed to take the offer with essentially tears running down still our faces, he quickly took her away and returned a few minutes later with some clippings of her hair in a ziploc bag. Again not an issue and it was a kind gesture .. however, In my opinion, what would have been more thoughtful in that moment was for the doctor to maybe ask if we needed more time before taking Gigi from the exam room. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, and we felt a little rushed, which was difficult when we just wanted to say our final goodbyes. Yes we could have spoken up about it but still being distraught with the whole situation, this didn’t really come to mind into after we left. Which is why this review comes almost a week later since our visit. I want to emphasize that I’m not trying to take away from their professionalism or the well-run nature of the clinic. I completely understand that schedules must be maintained. However, in that delicate moment, we needed a bit more space and understanding. This experience left an unsatisfactory lasting impression, at the literally the most emotional moment time for us which was physically saying bye to her after she passed. Instead, she was quickly taken from us to the back after a bit of urgency pushed by the doctor before we could have that final final goodbye when we were ready, which again we were under the impression we could have all the time we need and we had to signal the staff to come take her. Again, the staff was overall very kind and professional, and I’m Willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was just an oversight on a busy day at the clinic. I hope this feedback helps enhance the experience for future families who may choose this practice for end-of-life care
We took our dog, Bambi, to see Dr. Danielson, after reading about his love of seniors. We had a bad experience at another place and are very happy we chose Caring Paws. Dr. Danielson was so friendly, personable, and detailed in his exam. His assistant, Alex, was awesome, as well. Everything was explained as the exam was happening. We were presented with a treatment plan and cost breakdown. Bambi is scheduled to have a growth removed and a dental. I have trust in Dr. Danielson, even in a short time. When her lab results were ready, he called with detailed results. ❤️❤️❤️
I wouldn't trust anyone else with my animals. Dr. Turner really cares and has worked hard to untangle my dog's complicated medical issues. Yes, it is expensive. Yes, they'll suggest a lot of medications but if it will give my elderly dog her quality of life back, I'll do it. The end goal is always a healthy, happy pet.
Dr. Ben Turner is great at his job and seems to promotes an efficient work environment with the team. Nurse Ashton was also very attentive in her examination of my dog. The team diagnosed her and guided us through out the process.
We love Dr. Danielson and the staff. They are all so kind. Dr. Danielson really takes his time to examine our pets (dog, cat, guinea pigs) and answers all of our daughter's questions. You can tell he loves his job. He is so gentle with our pets and gives great advice and information on how to keep them healthy (and out of the vet office). We are so grateful for this vet practice, and they are really conveniently located right off of the toll way.
