*******HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! ******* I take my dogs to another vet but, due to Covid, they were only doing curbside drop off which I don't like. My one dog was overdue for her Rabies so we searched and found Community Veterinary Hospital. I thought it would be good from the reviews. Well that was wrong!!! From the minute I stepped in the lobby , I had a bad feeling. The facility is DIRTY, STAINED CEILING TILES, DEAD PLANT IN LOBBY, and a large FLY and DUST in the exam room. A woman comes into the exam room with her mask hanging off. Now why do I have to wear a mask and the woman has her mask hanging off?? We spoke about what my dog was there for and I expressed that I did not want them to take my dog to the back and requested that they do the heartworm test and vaccinations in the exam room with me. Well they wouldn't do the blood work in the exam room. The Vet finally came in and did not say hello at all, WAS NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL....nothing. SO ODD! When I put my dog on the exam table, he had the women listen to my dogs heart while he lifted the side of my dogs mouth for one second, flipped one of the ears and that was it. THEY CALL THAT AN EXAM!!! My dog started growling a bit and at one point the Vet said they would have to take her to the back and muzzle her. WHAT!!!! My other Vet would never have to do that and would never... My other Vet used to get on the floor and sit with my dog until she was comfortable with him. My other Vet has bedside manners and knows how to handle scared and anxious animals. At this point, I was not happy at all. I requested that they just give my dog the rabies and distemper. As the Vet was giving the injections (he jabbed the needle into my dogs back!! Horrible to see that and to this day I think that is why my dog is sensitive in that area) my dog started growling and I backed away a bit but was telling my dog that it was Ok. With that the doctor and woman both said to me not to do that and by telling her that is was Ok, I was telling her that it was ok to growl. My vet would never say that to me. That my be correct and many of us have learned that from training dogs but again odd that both would say that to me. When I received the receipt and noticed a $45 charge for a Wellness examination, I questioned that. I said all they did was listen to her heart....how is that an exam. They did not examine her teeth, they did not look at her ears, they did not move any joints, they did nothing other than listen to her heart and called that a Wellness exam. When I questioned the doctor and woman on that, the doctor said that was an exam. WOW!!!... Then they told me that I had to leave. I wish I had photos of the interior of this facility. Before you ever think of bringing your precious furbaby to this facility, please visit it and meet with the Vet... you will see what I am talking about. I have been to a few Veterinarians in New York and Florida and never had such a horrible uncaring, odd experience as I did here. THIS VET SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!
Honest and caring place that you can trust.. These people just want to help your animal and not overcharge you or have unnecessary procedures done..Been going for over 5 years and will continue to spend my money there..
First time for this veterinary hospital referred by largo feed. Everybody was kind and considerate to both myself and my cat. Their actions showed they truly cared about my cat and her comfort! Explain everything in detail! No rush! As a brand new patient able to get in the next day! This will definitely be my veterinarian now!
I have been bringing my pets to Dr. Mandelker at Community Veterinary Hospital for many years. The staff are always polite, patient and respectful to my needs. Dr. Mandelker is an excellent Veterinarian and I highly recommend Community Veterinary Hospital.
I took my senior cat for lab work and the tech was compassionate and experienced. The Dr is said to be retiring, so I won't get too established with them. They also handled my cat gently and he didn't freak once. I'll go back for more labs soon.
