My experience at Da Vinci has been the reason I am clean to this day. I have never been given a chance to live with the support guidance and structure that Angi gives us all. FACTS ! Angi has made Da Vinci a family and home I have never had Angi makes the difference between a sober house and a home. I encourage anyone seeking recovery to join us
I spent a short time here at DaVinci Recovery House. The girls were great and very helpful with the do's and don'ts of the house. I was in the hospital going through very bad withdrawals from opiates and I just wanted to get away from the people places and things that kept me stuck on stupid and kept me high! I asked around and a friend of mine Desiree told me about DaVinci House and that she was also staying there so I said I deserved to give myself a chance and try out this sober way of life. I spoke to the House Lady (do not remember her name) she was willing to take me in as long as I sent money right away for a week's rent. When I got there it seemed nice. I settled in & began working my program, following the rules of the house, meetings, job searching and diligently focusing on what needed to be done to have the best life I was striving for. After the 3rd week I was unable to make rent, I had partial payment but that wasn't good enough for her! Idk how they expected me to already have an established job receiving a paycheck already! Usually it takes about 3 weeks before you get paid cuz they hold back first 2 weeks if paid bi-weekly but she wasn't interested in my pleas for help and how I was scared of what will happen if I was to get put out in the street but she didn't care & made me leave immediately! I hope that they have since hired someone else who is compassionate, empathetic and patient because every person is an individual and accomplishes things at their own pace and need more time or less than the next girl. Update: I used that day she kicked me out and I have been in active addiction ever since so please I beg of you whoever you are, next time someone is telling you that they won't make it out there on their own and to please give them some more time, listen to that person, have some compassion and maybe bend the rules just a smidgen cuz you never know what you are sentencing that person to...for me: A lifetime of pain, misery and hatred towards sober living houses
Being at Da Vinci has been a Godsend. Speaking as a person who has been "around recovery" for longer than I care to mention, I have received so much support emotionally, mentally, and spirituality that I finally feel "In Recovery". I know it's not an easy road but living here has given me a safe, healthy, and encouraging environment to continue on this journey one day at a time. I didn't think I could pick myself up again one more time and DaVinci has given me the strength to, for that I will be forever grateful.
I cannot show enough gratitude to Angie and the other woman residing in the Davinci house for their support and willingness to share with me their many different experiences,strengths and Hope's. I was lost for many years and in just a couple months I have made huge steps in my recovery and in getting my life back on track with the tools to remain clean and sober. I have new positive associations with life long friends forever
Living here has been a great experience for me! Having Angie here has helped me stay focused on my recovery and rebuilding my relationships with my family. I'm so thankful that Davinci home chose me to stay here.
