Lots of love goes into housing these poor animals. They have kitty rooms so they can all socialize and their website is up to date too. Wish I could adopt them all honestly. If you can, donate old towels and blankets or food. The animals will appreciate it!
To preface this, my fiance and I have adopted two wonderful dogs from this shelter. The first one had her problems as any shelter dog would but we knew we’re going home with her due to our interaction in the kennels with her. With that being said, you can no longer walk the kennels and instead have to wait in an incredibly busy lobby just to view the animals once someone has time. This is insane as we would not have gone home with our first dog if it was not for the kennel interaction. When we adopted our second dog (who just had a litter recently and was in rough shape from living on the street) we had to request to meet her and wait for a tech to become available. They were nice enough to introduce our dogs outside on a supervised walk and the staff were pleasant. The negatives: Once we decided we were taking the dog, we waited almost three hours to do paperwork. In this day and age, there is no reason this can not be electronic or sped up. Our first dog had an ear infection upon adoption that we had to get checked out, and then found out 6 months later, the dog was heartworm positive. This was $1500 to get treated even though she had received a negative test at the kennel. Our second dog was spayed at the kennel, which turned into an infection and found out later the dog had severe allergies but we learned our mistakes with the first one. My best advice is to get your animal checked by a separate vet as I am unsure how capable the vet staff is at this shelter. Do not let this sway you away from adopting a shelter dog, they have both been the biggest blessing and I wouldn’t change anything about them, just the process and the care of the shelter team.
i adopted this cutie from here a few months ago and he has been the best dog that I’ve ever had my whole life. Thank You for allowing us to adopt this precious dog
Vanessa was super helpful in pairing me with my sweet little kitties. She answered all my questions and concerns and made the process very easy! I love them so much already
The staff at the shelter are always very helpful and kind. They are honest about the status of the pets. And most of them really care. They want to see the pets go to good homes. We have adopted two of our pets from here.
