I don't know why this facility offers X-ray for your pet and the doctor On duty is unable to read it and charges you another $95. to have a third party read it. I've taken my dog to several emergency hospitals and this facility was the least Knowledgeable about what the physical exam suggest what is going on with your dog. Me as a nurse for over 30 years had an idea that my dog was in heart failure. But the doctor thought she had pneumonia and an infection. I know that was not the case. That is why I did not buy the antibiotic and the other medications that he suggests that I buy for inflammation. She actually had, when the X-ray was read, left side heart failure and she passed away two days later! And they are so much more expensive as a clinic than all the other emergency hospitals. I will never take any of my dogs there again!!
Took all three of my cats here, they provide wonderful service and the staff genuinely cares for the pets. One of cats is more skittish than the rest , but the techs take the time and tentativeness which made my cat open up and now he loves coming to the vet. I appreciate all the staff care and patience they have, it’s hard to find a vet that cares as much as they do.
I was new to Lake Olympia Veterinarian and boy did I and my doggie have a great experience Dr. Beltran was so nice and took time to really examine my doggie throughly and what I was highly impressed with is how Dr. Beltran and his entire staff really cared for their patients( the animals) especially Melissa the vet Tech she was amazing , her bedside manners are wonderful, she is very knowledgeable and is so nice!! Really the entire staff is great, Dana that covered the phone was very inviting from the beginning and I was not disappointed at all, I highly recommend Lake Olympia Veterinarian to everyone that loves their pets and appreciates a professional veterinarian Dr. Beltran and his entire Staff, Thank you again, for everything. Sincerely, Jennifer A
I’m so pleased with the care Zuko has received, and continues to receive, at Lake Olympia Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Beltran and the front office staff, Dana and Jackie, have all provided stellar customer service. The staff’s caring nature is evident, and I always feel welcomed. Thank you team.

It’s taken me a long time to come to terms with the way my cat Butternut was treated when I had to euthanize her here in late July back in 2018, so I apologize I’m writing this so late. A recent recurrent nightmare I had the other night about it was the final catalyst to confront this. It was already a devastating situation that my cat of 13 years was dealing with cancer and her lungs were suddenly starting to fill with fluid, and she was nearly suffocating on the way to the vet. They quickly placed her in a Tupperware box to receive oxygen, which seemed fine at the time because she could finally breathe and calmed down. When I talked to the vet about removing the fluid from the lungs to extend her life a bit because I didn’t want her to go away so unexpectedly and after panicking like that, they reviewed the costs and they were around 4 times the cost of what other vets charged, so I cried because it was impossible to not have her unexpectedly euthanized right then. They were not understanding or accommodating concerning the costs. So, they started the euthanization process. I was not allowed in the room as they put her in a Tupperware box again, but this time to anesthetize and make her sleep. I accidentally walked in and she was panicking, running around the Tupperware box. That was the last time I saw her conscious, as the vet told me to leave the room. I could tell she needed me and I was not allowed to even see her last moments of consciousnesss or be there for her. The next I saw her, she was asleep on the table… I pet her and just hoped she was able to tell I was there for her. Then, they started the actual euthanization. I was sobbing as I saw her slip away. The vet with me was kind and told me she could tell she was a really good cat… but the other vets in the room were insensitively discussing what they were having for lunch and laughing, as I was experiencing one of the worst moments of my life. Then she was placed in a freezer and I paid higher than average costs for the euthanization and was coldly sent away. The day was agonizing enough as it was and the way this clinic handled it made it so much worse.
