I found the most beautiful little dog here that really needed a good home. She is so sweet! Everyone at the facility was very helpful including the volunteers and the people in the front office. Thank you to everyone there for what you do and for helping me find my little sweetheart!
My parents always adopted from here when I was a kid and a couple months ago I adopted my first cat on my own, Boo. She was an old lady and didn't have much time left but me and my partner loved her with all we had. She passed this last week and it was the best 2 months we could've had. I don't regret it for a second.
I not only volunteer here photographing the dogs, but I adopted my own dog here. The staff are all amazing, extremely helpful, and care very much. The dogs are so sweet and I wish I could take them all home.
2nd update: this cat is so awesome. I think the staff at the shelter wanted to keep it that's why they made fun of it. Somebody probably wanted it but already reached there limit. I love this dude he is so kewl Update: I did go back and adopt one of the cats they claim was "Spicy". They seemed to be addressing my complaint. 1 problem Even after I told the staff I would adopt. A female animal control said in a nasty voice "this one is bi-polar". I was going to remove the negative review . Not after this officers comment. The rest of the staff was professional. I was told it's unknown who the owner was. I lied down with this cat he crawled right up on my chest. See my YouTube if you don't believe me. If u want to see his progress. The staff terrorizes the animals I was appalled at what I saw. They try to stuff the cats into a box half their size with a sliding glass trap door. They then blame the animal and call it "spicy". The entire staff needs retrained or replaced. They told me multiple cats were "spicy" how you feel on the inside is how you feel on the outside. Of course the cat is not gonna like you if you've made up your mind it's spicy. The staff could not get one cat out for us to spend time with. I'm gonna go back and save a cat from that horrible environment. The cats are not the problem it's the staff.
Two weeks ago I adopted these two wonderful pitties (Zeus & Apollo), formerly known as Trooper Steve and Harvey. They appeared to have bonded while doing their stint at the O.County shelter and I couldn't bear to separate them, so we ended up with 2 furbabies!! My wife and I love them already. Everyone at the shelter was extremely helpful and genuinely loved animals. We will definitely donating money and time to this shelter. They're doing great work and we want to support that. Thank you for saving these pups who abandoned and placing them in the same kennel. Smart move indeed! These are special pitties mixed with a breed I never heard of till now, the Catahoula Leopard Dog (a Louisiana breed). If I had more resources and space I'd adopted a few more.
