Please don’t support this place. First off I came to pet land to purchase 2 fancy rats to keep as pets this place is a little far from me so I called a few times in advance to confirm they had at least 2 female rats available long story short my female rats have balls! When I was asking the manager and employees questions about the rats I was given conflicted answers they clearly didn’t know what they were talking about and just said anything so I would leave with the animals. I called the pet store to let them know they got the sex of my rats wrong and they were incredibly rude to me all the manager said was “so what do you want us to do” I understand there’s not much they could do to correct their mistake but I didn’t get even an apology. When I walked in the pet store i immediately noticed the sketchy amount of puppies in glass enclosures. According to the reviews on yelp this place gets their puppies from puppy mills and several people have had their puppies get incredibly sick and die almost immediately after bringing them home! I also noticed this beautiful bird being kept in a inhumane glass cage with absolutely no enrichment. These are ANIMALS they’re alive!! They shouldn’t be treated like this :( birds are social creatures they need entertainment and interaction to keep from getting depressed. Everyone who works here should feel ashamed of themselves I wish more people had a heart big enough to give every animal the care they deserve. And now I will have to spend $600 to get two male rats neutered! Male rats are more territorial they pee everywhere and they’re harder to train I planned on getting females for a reason. The employees here know they’re running a scam and continue it everyday.
8 years ago, I got my Roma. I purchased the full package with her. It cost me thousands. She was a yorkshire terrier. She was very special and had a sweet soul. I was told when purchasing her that any serious illness, like cancer, would be covered for treatment. As well as if she had any hereditary diseases. They told me god forbid anything would happen to my dog they would provide a new puppy when I was ready. Thinking about it now, I won't get another one because Roma can't be replaced. All these things they told me, I took notes and asked them if there was anything I needed to do on my end. The sales woman told me that nothing was needed on my end just to take the dog in or provide us with the paperwork of what is going on from the vet. As Roma started to show signs of her illness, I called Petland, and they said there was nothing they could do because I hadn't been buying their pet food and vitamins. I have a credit card with them and stop in to buy something every so often to keep the card active. Not one employee informed me of this. The safety net I had paid extra for meant nothing. I could have gone to a breeder, but I wanted the dog I got to be taken care of if something should happen. I feel very betrayed and heartbroken. The result of Petlands' false information resulted in me losing my furbaby this weekend. They told me there was nothing they could do that it is a third party that handles this, yet you still have to buy their food and their vitamins every three months to keep the health warranty active. I was lied to just to get the sale. It is terrible that she is gone, but what is even worse is all my streaming services are playing Petland adds since she has died. Two days of being reminded of how awful this company is. I know they are going to comment saying they are sorry, and they will make sure they will train staff, but that doesn't change. A family member has been taken from me. It won't change what happened to her. It has taken me a couple of days to process if I was going to write a review or not. I just want to let other families know to go by what your contract says and not the salesperson. They will tell you anything to get the sale of the puppy. It may not be the same people there after 8 years, but all the same, be careful. I am so very heartbroken that it's unbearable. RIP sweet girl Edit: my contract doesn't mention food or vitamin sales.
The employee KAREN , she's amazing, 🤩she always goes above and beyond for anyone💯, getting price checks🏷 and helping us when it's due. Have an awesome time when she's there because she's always willing to listen👂 and help no matter what with a smile 😊 on her face. We got 2 of our guinea pigs🐹 from here no problems 3 years ago so this is an update for 2024. This Petland isn't a corporate store it's family👨👩👧👦 owned so it's that much better giving back. Had a wonderful time ⌚️and our guinea pigs loved💓 the things Karen helped us get for them!🥰 She has made us a return for 3 or so years so she's obviously doing something right!😇🙃🤗🥳😎🥹
The puppies are great but there was a lot of concerns. First of all, we found out a the vet that the dog had worms, second of all, it was so expensive. ALMOST 2 GRAND.
Thanks to Abbie and the others at PetLand. My wife awoke with the sudden question Saturday, “Can I get the sheepdog from Little Mermaid for my daughters?”. Instead of just enjoying leftovers and football, we made a road trip to Tampa. The dog was even named Max already like the movie. I wish she had woke up and questioned a bag of random money appearing, but Abbie and the team made us happy campers anyway. Our first fur baby also gets some PetLand family perks! Consider PetLand if you’re looking for a specific breed or opportunity to learn more before you get your first pet. Great experience.
