While traveling in our motor home our German Shepherd Dog Sadie came down with an ear infection. Dr. Hester, Michaela, and Carolyn were so accommodating, professional, and kind to Sadie and I. They were able to see us the day I called. The office was very clean. The price was very reasonable. In the past some veterinary hospitals wouldn’t even see my dogs if we weren’t their normal customers. Not at River City. They treated us as if we had been long time customers. I would recommend them to anyone locally or while traveling at any of the nearby campgrounds. Thank you for helping our Sadie.
As a retired veterinarian, I am pretty demanding when it comes to veterinary care for my pets. Yesterday, my dog was very painful and distressed from a probable bladder infection. Anyone who has had a UTI knows how uncomfortable it is! The first two places I called told me they had no openings for her- one clinic had nothing until March 3rd. No offer to work us in! How do you predict and schedule your pet’s illness a week in advance? There was no concern for my dog at all. In contrast, River City immediately scheduled us and even called back to ask if I needed to come sooner. Dr Rodríguez was prompt, thorough and professional. Her staff was compassionate and helpful. The fees were quite reasonable and by the evening, my dog was playing again! THIS is what veterinary medicine should be - providing excellent care for our four legged family members. Not turning away the sick to be a shot clinic. My heartfelt gratitude to River City Veterinary Hospital.
Today we had to bring my babygirl in to be put down. Entire staff was very friendly and very sympathetic. To the doctor and staff thank you for making my sweet DIXIES last moments very peaceful.
The vet and tech were very nice. The front desk lady not so much. No smile no good morning. The price for simple yearly vaccines, heart worm and flea control is not sustainable. And 2 office visit charges seems a bit excessive. When bringing in 2 pets doing a yearly shots could offer a discounted price. Many in area have voiced their dislike of high prices of this facility. It’s a shame because like said the vet and tech were very good. But walking out with a $365bill for rabies 3yr and flea control 3mo is not happening again.
We moved to the area not so long ago and we needed a vet for our cat RagDoll urgently. He was suffering from a severe case of flea allergy, something not familiar to us from the north. He kept biting his hair off and we tried everything over the counter. We looked at reviews for local vets in Palatka and narrowed down to River City. For us, the fact they do 3 services, Vet, Grooming, and Boarding is pretty convenient. We didn’t know what to expect, however just calling in to make an appointment the front desk (Carolyn) was absolutely professional, caring, understood what was necessary, and compassionate towards our feline. The entire experience went above and beyond my expectations. We cannot express enough how well the entire staff coordinates and interacts with the patients/clients. The Vet, Dr. Martinez is extremely knowledgeable. A quick conversation about our issue with RagDoll and Dr. Martinez immediately knew what plan to outline for our cat. Caitlyn assisted Dr. Martinez and handled the pre-items (weighing in and gathering the info, etc), she was outstanding! We were so pleased with the experience we brought in our other 2 little tigers. Scuba and Stringbean, again first class, white glove experience. Before we went into the exam room with the 2 cats, I had requested if I could please have something taken care of by phoning in a request. As soon as we were done with the exams, Shelby had already taken care of the request. In summary and in a few words, I Highly Recommend this Team and Vet Practice. We are grateful we found this location and hope this review also helps newcomers narrow down their choices. Also have been flea free for a few weeks now. Thank goodness. A+++ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
