The only thing this business is interested in is maximizing their profits. They don't care about you or your pet. I went to them to have my 15+ year old dog euthanized due to his failing health and poor quality of life. Instead, I was advised by the examining vet to have $500 worth of medical tests done. To be clear, this dog is totally blind, totally deaf and experiences chronic pain and limited mobility.. Old age may not be a clinical impairment but it certainly often results in multiple impairments. It appears from their own statement that the vet failed to consider this. Why? I subsequently had this dog examined by another highly respected vet. His diagnosis confirmed my fears, that it was best to euthanize my dog than to continue his suffering. What a grift. Compassion for the pet. None. The end game for this business is to maximize profit at the expense of the pet. Go somewhere else. Don't waste your money or your pet's health dealing with this business.
We were here on vacation and our yorkie became sick. We called several vets in the area and none took walk ins or had appointments! Then we found Shores Animal Hospital! They had available appointments and great reviews so we made an appointment! Everyone was attentive and helpful. They collected information from me and had called to get Harley’s chart from our home vet. After the doctor saw him I was given a plan of treatment from the most aggressive to the less aggressive. Everything was clearly explained! I was very pleased that their prices were reasonable! Great job! Thank you so much!
While visiting the area, our Pug Leon, became ill rather suddenly. Shores Animal Hospital staff were so helpful and kind. We were able to get an appointment to see the vet the same day. They provided a detailed treatment plan, and were able to diagnose and treat Leon for multiple medical issues he had going on. We are so grateful for the care and treatment he received. Thank you! The care Whippers received was excellent! The receptionist, Nicolette made me feel so much better. She had empathy for my baby Whippers. There was no waiting to see Dr. Kern. The care given was an emergency to me and the staff was working quickly because it was an emergency to them as well..Dr. Kern called me personally and all information was forwarded to our vet in Savannah. We will be visiting St Augustine again in the future..It is good to know we have Dr. Kern and the staff there at Shores Animal Hospital in St Augustine, Florida.
