Our family had a great experience with The Bark Stop! Joe was able to see us on short notice and helped us so much with our 1 year old pup. He spent a lot of time talking with us about our areas of concern and her specific needs and gave really helpful training tips and advice for us to practice with her. She had a blast during her Stay and Train and we got so many photo/video updates of her training while she was there. With the training techniques Joe showed us, our loose leash walks have been enjoyable again and we have such a happy pup at home. We highly recommend Joe for your dog's training needs!
We are beyond impressed with the results from the 16-week training course we completed with Joe at The Bark Stop! From the very beginning, Joe’s passion and genuine love for what he does were evident. He didn’t just train our 12-week-old puppy Charlie—he trained us! Joe’s approach to positive reinforcement completely changed how we see dog training. I’ll admit I was skeptical at first, but now I’m a firm believer. Joe’s methods were gentle, effective, and incredibly rewarding for both us and Charlie. What really stood out was Joe’s creativity and flexibility. Training didn’t just happen at The Bark Stop—we worked at our house, ventured to parks, lakes, and even local businesses. One night, we all had dinner together, and our puppy was the star of the show, behaving like a pro in a busy restaurant! Joe is not only a fantastic trainer but also an amazing person. He’s patient, encouraging, and so much fun to work with. If you’re looking for a trainer who is passionate, skilled, and truly invested in you and your dog’s success, we cannot recommend Joe and The Bark Stop enough. Five stars just don’t seem like enough for the incredible experience we had!
Lily recently finished 4 sessions of one on one training with Joe. He was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Lily accomplished a lot on her first day. From learning to stay in a place and running around a park practicing her recall skills. My biggest goal was to work on socializing her with other dogs. She's always been afraid of other dogs ever since I rescued her. Her fear turns into reactivity, and I really want her to be able to feel calm around other dogs. Joe is the 3rd trainer I've worked with and I really liked his force-free approach. We went to the dog park multiple times to watch the dogs play from outside the fence. It helped Lily get more comfortable around other dogs in a safe environment. She even met a sweet golden named Rex on her last session. I included some pictures of her first seconds meeting Rex as a "before". She was able to recover quickly and within a short minute she was working side by side with him to get some treats. Overall I'm grateful to Joe for helping to build not only Lily's confidence, but mine as well. I always get so anxious when Lily would get reactive towards other dogs. Things aren't perfect yet, but I'm glad I have the tools to keep practicing. Maybe one day my Lily can make some doggy friends! I highly recommend Joe and the Bark Stop!
We had such a great experience working with Joe. He helped our chocolate lab Hazel learn so many new skills and helped her gain confidence through socialization. I would highly recommend Joe to anyone with a new pup who’s considering training (it’s worth it)!! We practiced new skills with Joe at each session so we can continue training at home in between sessions. Could not recommend this experience enough! We’re even able to walk her off leash on hikes now (hooray!).
I can’t say enough great things about Joe and his Stay and Train program! He’s so knowledgeable, patient, and truly dedicated to helping us and our girl Winnie succeed. The change in just three days was incredible—it’s like we got a whole new dog! Winnie is now more obedient, calm, and confident thanks to Joe’s expertise. He kept us in the loop with updates, pictures, and detailed videos, so we always knew what they were working on. If you’re looking for a trainer who knows their stuff and makes the process fun, Joe is your guy. Highly recommend!
