I never write reviews, however, We brought in our cat Yoshi for an appointment and the staff was fantastic! Very pleasant and very helpful. We bring our dog Winston as well and always have a great experience. They truly do have a love for the animals. We will continue coming here!
My 14-year-old dog had a urinary tract infection over the weekend. I could not get an appointment to see his vet on Monday. I was blessed to get a morning appointment at Petco in the Petco store in Wesley chapel. My dog had a UTI over the weekend and it meant that it would be more than three or four days to get help for him. Vetco gave me a morning appointment and I was so very grateful!! All of the staff were so kind and knowledgeable. The technician Aissai (sp) who helped us to take all of his history down and she was amazing and very knowledgeable as well! Doctor Nico schwarte was very thorough in diagnosing my beautiful dog shep. He was very personal and had a great deal of empathy with dogs and their family! He realized that the shepherd dog family has multi-drug allergies to certain medications. My dog was given the necessary medications that he needed and I'm so grateful for the doctor and his veterinarian technician. We very highly recommend doctor Nico schwarte and his staff because of this level of medical expertise, and empathy at the Vetco vet clinic in Wesley chapel !! Thank you so much! Today on August 14th 2024 I am also adding a review about my beautiful cat James! James had such amazing, and exceptional care from the vets, the vet techs and the entire staff! My cat was 17 years old but he could not overcome his respiratory health issues. Our beautiful Cat James died at home In July... We used their cremation services. Every one was so kind. Myself and my son were hugged by All the veterinarians, tech staff and all of the staff members at Wesley chapel Vetco!!!✨ We also received calls for our well-being. It's very hard to put into words and express our heartfelt appreciation of their empathy and compassion for the loss of our beautiful James. We received his beautiful urn of his cremation with his name, birth And the last day in his life. All of the staff also sent us A card in the mail and each one of the staff wrote out condolences , four paw prints and a small vial of his fur!!🙏 All I can say is the vets, vet techs and all of the staff treat you as though you are their Family And they really care 👩❤️👩 God bless you all to help our amazing cat James and to help celebrate his life ✨💕
I’ve taken my dog here several times since moving to Tampa. At first I had decent experiences, nothing super great but nothing bad. Just usual vet stuff, trying to push certain foods/brands since they get spiffed. But the last 2 experiences have fallen short of expectations. They called me to set up and annual checkup for my dog in order to renew her flea and tick medication, saying the only way I can get the renewal is with an appointment. I make the appointment, drive 30 minutes there for them to tell me she isn’t due for her annual checkup yet. Ok, we got 3 months worth of the medication and planned on scheduling in the future. A month or two later, my dog develops a hot spot out of nowhere. I started getting concerned as it was growing so I tried to book an appointment. The lady on the phone kept telling me there’s nothing to recommend me do in the meantime while I wait for my appointment since she is not licensed. I ask her to get someone who is licensed to let me know what to do, and she says she can’t because they are busy. She puts me on hold for 15 minutes to wait for a licensed tech to talk to me, just to come back and say no one is available and they’ll call me back before my appointment. Luckily, someone did call me back, but I had to wait 4 days just for them to tell me there’s nothing much to do outside of the appointment. My appointment day rolls around, and I make the 30 minute drive out to the location just for them to be closed. No call to reschedule me, no text to let me know the appointment is cancelled. I left my number with the workers at Petco who left it with the managers in the Vet office. No call back, no word from them. Very disappointing for a paying customer to receive such terrible communication, or lack thereof.
I gave 3 stars because the staff is very pleasant. But I won’t be going back again. I brought my dog there last May (2023) because of blood in urine. Determined she had crystals. Fed her new diet, issue resolved. The vet told me that during the abdomen xray, she believes she saw something (small) that shouldn’t be there and to bring her back to be sedated for xray (she wouldn’t stay still). I brought her in yesterday for that exam. Over the phone when quoted an estimated price, it was well under $200. (I understood it was an estimate and can change.) I was adamant about just having the side where this unknown mass was found xrayed and we will go from there. They advised against just the 1 and even though I kept declining, they were able to get me to go along with all 3 images, which is charged individually. Then they told me that the vet sends the imagine out to a radiologist. That would cost a lot more, (as much as the damn xray) and the tech said that we can possibly remove that. She asked the vet and the vet said no. She sends all out. I even said that I would trust her judgement. So all in all, my final bill was over $600! What gets me the most is that my baby girl is fine. There are no masses or anything seen. That’s a plus for sure. But it shouldn’t have cost me $600+ to find out there was nothing in her abdomen!! And I specifically told them I needed to keep the bill down because my husband and I just broke up, I have been out of work on disability, and don’t have the extra expense, yet they added all these extra services and charged that I stated very clearly I didn’t want to get! I find that to be very rude and greedy. I laid all that money out because their veterinarian saw something that never existed! P.S. my baby girl has been crying since we got home yesterday, almost nonstop. She’s barely walking. I think her hip is bothering her. I also told them the other concern I had was with her hip. When she squats to urinate, she won’t bend her left hip. I am starting to think that whatever position they moved her in during the xray may have injured it. I’m going to give it another day and if she’s still crying on Monday I will be taking her somewhere else. 😢
We brought our 12 year old cat Gandalf in when she somewhat suddenly stopped eating and drinking. We were able to get an appointment for a few hours away, and got her checked in quickly and efficiently. The vet and tech were amazing and explained everything(medical and financial) really well. Gandalf had a high fever, so we had blood work done on site. The results came back normal, and they re-tested them to be sure. They gave her fluids, antibiotics, and something to make her more comfortable and sent us home. It was a pretty scary experience, and luckily the outcome for us seems like it will be positive. The services were good, and the people were nice. The pricing overall seemed comparable to a vet, but cheaper than an emergency vet.
